This park features many contemporary artworks blending perfectly with the natural environment. Stroll the walking paths and enjoy the harmony of art and nature – perfect for families and photography lovers. In the afternoon, arrive at the picturesque coastal town of Kaikōura. You may choose to walk the full Peninsula Walkway or, if time is limited, visit Whalers Bay viewpoint for a taste of the dramatic scenery where sea and mountains meet. This trail is a must-visit for hikers and photographers. At dinner, enjoy the region’s signature dish – Kaikōura lobster. Its exquisite flavour and fresh texture make it an unforgettable gourmet experience. Hotel: Sudima Kaikōura or Lobster Inn Motel or similar 4-star Lunch: Not included Dinner: Half lobster meal Day 2: Kaikōura – Christchurch After breakfast, embark on a ★whale watching cruise at 10:30am (approx. 3 hours, with a 98% success rate). Using sonar technology, the crew tracks sperm whales surfacing for air, and you may also spot dolphins, albatrosses, and seals. (Note: If the tour is cancelled due to weather, $140 NZD/adult will be refunded.) Enjoy lunch at one of the many waterfront Western restaurants (at your own expense). In the afternoon, visit the waterfall seal pup nursery with your guide for a close-up look at these adorable creatures. Return to Christchurch in the evening.
