Choose one activity: a 3-hour whale-watching cruise, described in the source with a 98% success rate, using sonar to locate surfacing sperm whales or other whales, with possible sightings of dolphins, albatrosses and seals; or a sea-fishing trip lasting 2.5 hours, with equipment provided, targeting perch and blue cod and checking crayfish pots. Catches are not guaranteed; the captain distributes any catch fairly. If weather cancels the boat trip, refunds follow the attraction operator’s rules. Lunch at a seaside restaurant for fresh seafood is optional and at own expense. In the afternoon, visit the seal colony, then depart for Christchurch at 15, arriving at the designated location at about 17:30. The excursion ends there. Hotel: Christchurch 3–4-star hotel. Lunch and dinner at own expense.

Day 2Arrive in Christchurch (recommended flights: 12:00–17:00)

Arrive in Christchurch, the Garden City, with its British character and modern energy. Meet your dedicated guide at the airport and check in at the hotel. Rest, explore the green city at leisure or stroll nearby streets. For flights arriving before 12 or after 17, confirm pickup availability or alternative transport in advance. Arrivals after 14 cannot be guaranteed a city tour. Hotel: Christchurch 3–4-star hotel. Lunch and dinner at own expense.

Day 3Christchurch – Lake Tekapo (3 hours, 230 km)

After breakfast, your guide takes you around Christchurch, visiting the historic Arts Centre, the Avon River and the Bridge of Remembrance. After lunch, travel to Lake Tekapo, whose turquoise water comes from glacial rock flour, with snowy mountains surrounding the lake. Visit the lakeside Church of the Good Shepherd. In the evening, enjoy salmon sashimi from the farm described in the source as the world’s highest-altitude salmon producer. Stay in the Tekapo International Dark Sky Reserve, with an opportunity to see the Milky Way and stars. Accommodation: distinctive homestay; each group is guaranteed a private bedroom, but not a separate holiday house. Breakfast: Western-style at hotel. Lunch at own expense. Dinner: high-altitude salmon buffet.

Day 4Lake Tekapo – Mount Cook (1 hour 30 minutes, 105 km) – Wānaka (2 hours 30 minutes, 200 km) – Queenstown (1 hour 10 minutes, 70 km)

Enjoy the mountain and snow-peak scenery. In clear weather, you may take a self-paid helicopter flight over the glaciers and Mount Cook. Continue to the turquoise Lake Pukaki, a scenic place to photograph Mount Cook’s reflection, and then Lake Wānaka, New Zealand’s fourth-largest lake. See That Wānaka Tree, standing alone in the water, and stroll the lakeside. Arrive in Queenstown in the evening, a renowned resort and honeymoon destination on Lake Wakatipu.
